Scripts and drafts stay on the user’s device. Google Play is used for optional Pro subscriptions and official-version checks.
Information stored locally
The app stores the current script, popup preferences, last popup position, and a cached plan status in private local app storage. When Pro is active it also stores named drafts. Free scripts are limited to 1,000 words and Free does not provide named draft creation. No app account is required.
Camera and microphone
The app does not request camera or microphone permission. It opens a camera app selected by the user, and that separate camera app controls recording, media storage, and its own permissions.
Display over other apps
This special Android permission is used only to show the teleprompter script and controls above the camera or another app. Users can refuse or revoke it in Android Settings; without it, the floating popup cannot run.
Foreground service and notifications
A foreground service is used only while the floating teleprompter is active. Android may show a persistent notification, and Android 13 or later may request notification permission. Stopping the popup ends the foreground service.
Advertising
Free mode contains a clearly labelled Pro promotion area. Pro removes it. This release does not include a third-party advertising SDK. If one is enabled later, this policy and the Play Store Data Safety declaration must be updated before that release is published.
Google Play Billing
When the Pro screen is used, Google Play Billing may provide product price, purchase status, purchase token, subscription state, and account-linked transaction information needed to sell, acknowledge, or restore Pro. Google Play processes payment; the app and developer do not receive the user’s full card or bank details. Script and draft text is not included in billing requests.
Google Play version checks
For installations obtained from Google Play, the app uses Play In-App Updates to check whether a newer version is available and to start an immediate update. Google states that Play Core can process app version, country, Android version, and device metadata for this purpose. Scripts and drafts are not sent through this check. If Play cannot confirm the latest version, the official installation remains blocked and an active popup may stop. A directly installed APK skips Play update verification and runs in Free mode.
Data sharing and Internet
The app uses internet access for Google Play billing and official-version checks. It does not upload scripts, drafts, recordings, contacts, or analytics to developer servers. Google Play services process purchase and update information under Google’s policies. Email and Play links open in another app only after the user taps them.
Deletion
Pro users can delete individual named drafts inside the app. All local app data can be erased through Android Settings > Apps > Teleprompter Camera Pop Up > Storage > Clear data, or by uninstalling the app.
Children and sensitive content
The app is a general productivity tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Users should avoid putting confidential information in a script if other people can access the unlocked device.
